M2 is a collaborative repository development effort between WGBH and Indiana University, funded by a two-year NEH grant. The project aims to make preservation activities and long-term management easily actionable for digital audiovisual collections. This poster looks at the unique needs of audiovisual content in terms of the repository environment, and then moves into the specific needs of Indiana University and WGBH content. The HydraDAM2 data model is presented for review as it conceives of the Hydra repository environment in a new way, looking at it from a preservationist’s perspective. Finally the poster discusses how the work of HydraDAM2 will serve to further work in the field at large.en
