This issue of the IFLA Journal features global perspectives on library education, professional ethics, and access to information. Articles explore user education in academic libraries, with a focus on lifelong learning and information literacy. Contributions examine ethical frameworks guiding library work, as well as the evolving role of librarians in a changing information environment. Case studies and theoretical discussions emphasize the importance of professional values, user engagement, and responsive service models. The issue underscores libraries’ role in supporting democratic societies, empowering individuals through information access, and adapting to technological and cultural shifts in the global landscape.
