| dc.description.abstract | In Pakistan, public libraries are progressively transcending their conventional functions in order to address changing community demands. This poster offers "From Shelves to Society," a workable concept for using an integrated service approach to turn public libraries into welcoming, user-centered environments. Three pillars form the foundation of the model. Digitization, digital libraries, and audiobooks are examples of digital access, which makes knowledge more accessible and adaptable. The goal of community engagement is to promote conversation, social contact, and a reading culture through interactive programs like book clubs and Human Library sessions. In order to provide services to underserved and distant regions, Outreach and Inclusion places a strong emphasis on programs like Library on Wheels. Increased user involvement in library programming, better access for underrepresented groups, higher digital literacy, and a resurgence of community interest in public library spaces are some of the major results of first deployment. The library's function as a center for education, social contact, and cross-cultural exchange is further strengthened by the combination of these services. This model shows how coordinated services can produce significant social and educational effect and provides useful insights for public libraries operating in resource-constrained environments by presenting a coherent and scalable framework. | |
