Minutes of Meeting: Library Theory and Research Section, 14 May 2026

Abstract

Minutes of the sixth Business Meeting of the IFLA Library Theory and Research (LIBTHEORY) Section, held online on 14 May 2026. The meeting reviewed preparations for WLIC 2026 in Busan, including the Satellite Meeting, Open Session (Knowledge Café), and Section Business Meeting. Members discussed strategies to increase participation and dissemination of the call for papers, as well as organisational arrangements for the Knowledge Café. Updates were provided on the Section newsletter, the IFLA100 Oral History Project, and ongoing projects. The Mental Health, Information Literacy and Workspace Stress Management Project was archived due to lack of progress, while the Diversity and Participation Project was refocused on cultural diversity and barriers to participation. The minutes also record administrative decisions, attendance, and plans for future Section activities.
