Itinerant Librarian Support Project for Small Libraries

Abstract

The Itinerant Librarian Support Project for Small Libraries is a nationwide initiative implemented by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism. The primary objective of the project is to enhance the operational capacity of small libraries, many of which operate without qualified staff or adequate resources. Furthermore, the project seeks to establish a sustainable framework for collaboration among local governments, public libraries, and small libraries. Since its inception in 2010, the project has seen steady expansion, and as of 2025, a total of 180 itinerant librarians are actively supporting small libraries throughout the country.
