Pedagogical libraries are an unique (the world’s only) model of library network intended for teachers and students. They have been established in Poland in the 1920s. These libraries hold special scientific and pedagogical collections for teachers and teacher candidates of all educational levels. The network of pedagogical libraries consists of 268 libraries with combined number of users approximately 570 000. Our main goal is to support schools and educational community. For students of all grades (including preschoolers) we organise special lessons, information literacy and information technology education, as well as contests for students. Teachers are honoured users in pedagogical libraries. They can participate in various conferences, lectures, workshops and self-development networks.en
