Library facilities such as shelves, desks, chairs, signs, and buildings should be improved constantly according to changes of users’ behavior. Library systems such as OPACs or discovery tools have been improved using user test methods. On the other hand, it is difficult to apply user test methods for library facilities because of the high cost of construction and preparing them for testing. That is why we developed a virtual reality library system for testing library designs. We have tested the system and revealed that it gives users a sufficient feeling of immersion. In addition, it was revealed that the system is effective for testing library sign designs. Using this VR system, we can design library facilities interactively through dialogue with users.en
