Abstract
IYALI – the Initiative for Young African Library Innovators – is a partnership between EIFL-PLIP, the African Library and Information Associations and Institutions (AfLIA) and the International Federation of Library Associations and Institutions (IFLA) that aims to accelerate the new technology-based services, and to increase advocacy for digital resources in Africa public libraries. IYALI works by inspiring and building capacity of young African public librarians to take forward these aims by providing knowledge-sharing, professional networking an international learning experience.
By connecting young African public library innovators with their peers outside of Africa, IYALI creates an opportunity for the librarians to expand their professional horizons, explore new ideas and see their own work and achievements in a new and different light.
The poster include 18 new services and cases of community outreach led by inspiring young public librarians at their libraries in 9 African countries, who have been selected take part in IYALI programme in 2017. During IFLA WLIC 2017 poster presentation sessions, each of them will share their work experience on a rotating schedule.
