Abstract
This poster highlights the contributions of public libraries (PLs) in Taiwan to the UN SDGs.
Following the paradigm of SDG Stories - IFLA Library Map of the World, we have established a "Library and Sustainable Development Goals" website in Taiwan (https://librarysdg.ntnu.edu.tw/) for Taiwan's PLs to share their own SDG stories.
Second, we compiled more than 70 PL equipment, facilities, services, and activities related to SDGs. We conducted a survey to ask PLs about their recognition of public libraries' contributions to the 17 SDGs and the SDG-related equipment, facilities, services, and activities they provide. In addition to exploring the relevant actions that Taiwan's public libraries have taken to achieve SDGs, we can further optimize them based on the survey results.
We also want to know whether people benefit from SDG-related services provided by PLs and whether these services bring any changes to their skills, knowledge, or behavior. Therefore, we conducted a questionnaire survey to ask people about their understanding and importance of SDGs in their lives, their participation in SDGs services or activities provided by PLs, and the outcomes they have gained from these services or activities.
