| dc.description.abstract | This poster aligns with the WLIC 2026 theme, Libraries Powering Transformation, by showing how libraries can strengthen their contribution to sustainability through two key strategic resources: the IFLA Guidelines for Green Libraries and The Green Librarian Handbook, together with their companion website, which provides additional guidance, practical tools, case studies, and up-to-date resources. Together, these resources offer a practical framework to help libraries improve their environmental, social, and economic sustainability while reinforcing their role as agents of change. The IFLA Guidelines for Green Libraries encourage libraries to integrate sustainability into governance, operations, collections, services, partnerships, and community engagement. Building on these principles, The Green Librarian Handbook, developed within the EBLIDA/ELAN initiative and authored by RECIDA Association (Spain), translates the Guidelines into practical recommendations for everyday library practice. This poster presents several initiatives and good practices developed by the National Center for Environmental Education (CENEAM), part of the National Parks Authority (Spain), illustrating how these strategic resources can be implemented through environmental education, green library services, citizen participation, and professional collaboration to support the Sustainable Development Goals and inspire institutional transformation. | |
