This document presents the minutes of the IFLA Library Theory and Research Section business meeting held in Busan and online on 9 August 2026, during WLIC 2026. Members reviewed the Section’s conference activities, including the session on artificial intelligence and LIS education, the Knowledge Café and the satellite meeting hosted by Busan National University. The discussion also covered member participation, the development of the Section’s current projects and the need to define their scope and objectives more clearly. A substantial part of the meeting was devoted to possible activities for IFLA’s centenary and WLIC 2027, with proposals for a satellite meeting and an open session exploring the contribution of theory and research to librarianship, the outcomes of LIS research over the past century and the profession’s response to technological change. Members also considered cooperation with universities and other IFLA units.
