dc.description.abstractDie „Functional Requirements for Bibliographic Records“ stellen ein Modell dar, das unabhängig von einem Regelwerk oder einer bestimmten Anwendung Beziehungen zwischen Entitäten benennt und dabei auf die Benutzeranforderungen Finden, Identifizieren, Auswählen und Zugang erhalten eingeht. Hier stehen die FRBR in bester Tradition der so genannten „Pariser Prinzipien“ (Statement of Principles, 1961), mit denen die IFLA eine wichtige Grundlage für viele Regelwerke schuf. Mit dem „Statement of International Cataloguing Principles“ wird derzeit in einer mehrjährigen IFLA-Konferenzfolge an einer Aktualisierung dieser Prinzipien gearbeitet, für die das FRBR-Modell eine wichtige Rolle spielt. Dieses Modell wird durch das IFLA Library Reference Model: A Conceptual Model for Bibliographic Information (IFLA LRM) von 2017 ersetzt.en_US
