Abstract
"Under the auspices of IFLA - International Federation of Library Associations and Institutions - the 47th Council and General Conference of IFLA will be held in Leipzig, GDR, from 17th to 22nd August 1981. The Conference will be organized by the Library Association of the GDR in close cooperation with the Ministry of Culture of the GDR, the Karl Marx University in Leipzig, and the Secretariat of IFLA in The Hague. The general theme of the 47th Council and General Conference reads as follows: National Institutions and Professional Organizations of Librarianship aspects of the National library development and international cooperation, considering especially: library associations; library boards and councils; professional and scientific-methodological centres; national centres for library services; institutions and councils for library research work."
