In cooperation with UNESCO’s Information for All Programme (IFAP), the IFLA Information Literacy Section developed Media and Information Literacy Recommendations, which were formally endorsed by the IFLA Governing Board in December 2011. The statement urges governments, intergovernmental organizations, and private institutions to promote Media and Information Literacy (MIL) and Lifelong Learning as fundamental tools for individual and national development.
