Item LRMoo, a high-level model in an object-oriented framework(International Federation of Library Associations and Institutions (IFLA), 2022-10-27) Riva, Pat; Žumer, Maja; Aalberg, TrondThe LRMoo model brings the IFLA Library Reference Model (IFLA LRM) into the CIDOC Conceptual Reference Model (CRM) family of models by providing an object-oriented version of the model that is designed as an extension to CIDOC CRM. LRMoo is developed from FRBRoo, which was based on the FR family of models. In comparison to FRBRoo, LRMoo is streamlined and at a higher level of generality, while retaining full expressivity. Aspects of the model have been revised to align more closely with the IFLA LRM model, such as the handling of aggregation and representative expression attributes. Properties have been added to correspond to certain IFLA LRM relationships between works and expressions that were not declared in FRBRoo. The classes that represent the creation events of the main WEMI classes, F27 Work Creation and F28 Expression Creation, were revised. Specialized examples have been replaced with ones chosen to aid in comprehension of the model.Item LRMoo, navigating standards development processes in two communities(International Federation of Library Associations and Institutions (IFLA), 2023-07-19) Riva, Pat; Maja, Zumer; Aalberg, TrondLRMoo, the object-oriented formulation of the IFLA Library Reference Model, is, like its predecessor FRBRoo, also a compatible extension to the museum community model, the CIDOC Conceptual Reference Model. The approval process for the object-oriented models is a joint process of the two communities. LRMoo requires both IFLA standards approval, as for any other IFLA standard, and approval through the CIDOC CRM Special Interest Group, which manages the CIDOC CRM family of models within ICOM.Item LRMoo: object-oriented definition and mapping from the IFLA Library Reference Model(International Federation of Library Associations and Institutions (IFLA), 2024-12-09) Aalberg, Trond; Riva, Pat; Žumer, MajaLRMoo is a conceptual model that expresses the IFLA Library Reference Model (IFLA LRM) in an object-oriented modeling framework. Developed through joint work in the library and museum communities, it is compatible with and an extension of the museum community model, the CIDOC Conceptual Reference Model (CRM). LRMoo version 1.0 is aligned with CIDOC CRM version 7.1.3. LRMoo is a high-level, compact model, with a minimum of hierarchy between classes. LRMoo is tightly aligned with IFLA LRM and reflects its decisions about scope and granularity. LRMoo supersedes FRBRoo version 2.4 (2016), the object-oriented model that was aligned with the superseded FR models: FRBR, FRAD, and FRSAD. Transition information from FRBRoo to LRMoo is included.
