    Marketing is a process, a tried-and-true systematic approach for matching services and products to customers’ wants, needs, and desires within the resources and mission of the organization. Successful marketing is based upon a well-sculpted mission and organizational goals and objectives, a result of strategic planning. But success can be elusive if either marketing or strategic planning is conceived in isolation. This paper will discuss the necessary partnership and offer two illustrative examples for accomplishing “going green goals and objectives.”

    Предыдущее руководство, на основе которого было подготовлено данное издание, Было выпущено ИФЛА под названием «Руководство ИФЛА/ЮНЕСКО по развитию службы публичных библиотек» в2001 г. На русском языке оно было издано Российской библиотечной ассоциацией, по официальному разрешению ИФЛА, в издательстве «Российская национальная библиотека» под грифом ИФЛА и РБА в2002 г. Официальный перевод на русский язык издания2001 г. был подготовлен ЮНЕСКО. Настоящее Руководство, подготовленное ИФЛА в 2010 г., издается РБА также на основании официального разрешения ИФЛА. Данное «второе полностью пересмотренное» издание является обновленной версией издания 2001-2002 гг. Не весь текст подвергся изменениям, и там, где он сохранился в неизменном виде, для обеспечения преемственности, мы полностью сохранили перевод ЮНЕСКО2001 г. Перевод на русский язык всех изменений и дополнений 2010 г. является официальным переводом РБА.
