Abstract

The Global Week of Action for the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) – or SDG Action Week –  takes place around the anniversary of the agreement of the United Nations’ 2030 Agenda in 2015. Each year, this provides an opportunity to show the ongoing commitment of different actors and organisations to development. It is supported by the United Nations and major civil society networks engaged in delivering the SDGs. As the name suggests, the goal is to encourage actions around the world focused on advancing the SDGs, from raising awareness to practical delivery. With just ten years to go to deliver the SDGs, it is a time to show how access to information - and the libraries that guarantee it - can make the difference, and should be fully integrated into implementation plans. This is a short guide to the Action Week, including ideas on how you can get involved, and get your actions registered.
