Abstract

This issue of the IFLA Journal presents a diverse range of studies addressing knowledge organization, access to information, and library development across regions. Articles examine bibliographic control in Nepal, cataloguing and metadata practices in Asia, and knowledge mapping for digital libraries. Case studies explore user behavior in Singapore, metadata implementation in Taiwan, and collection development challenges in the U.S. and Sweden. Additional contributions analyze scholarly communication trends and the evolving role of libraries in supporting academic work. The issue emphasizes international perspectives on managing information resources, professional standards, and user needs in a digital age. Together, these papers highlight both regional innovations and shared global challenges in the field of library and information science.
