Abstract
IFLA Governing Board held its 54th meeting on 2 April 2017 at the Goethe Institute in Athens, Greece. The Board adopted the agenda and approved the corrected minutes from the December 2016 meeting. Key resolutions included IFLA’s co-signing of joint statements on copyright reform, education exceptions, and the Marrakesh Treaty, as well as a position paper on non-official data for SDG monitoring. Victoria Owen was nominated to the Accessible Books Consortium Board. Strategic discussions addressed advocacy efforts, strategic partnerships, and policy developments. The Board reviewed progress across all four strategic directions, including initiatives such as the Library Map of the World, the DA2I report, and the Membership Survey. It endorsed the continuation of the Trend Report with annual supplements and approved appointments to advisory committees and working groups. Financial matters included acceptance of the 2016 financial statements and allocation of surplus funds. The meeting concluded with governance discussions, committee appointments, and planning for upcoming sessions in Wrocław and The Hague.
