Abstract
Croatian Research Information System (CroRIS) is a national level CRIS system in Croatia that plays a crucial role in managing and analysing research-related data, benefiting users on both national and international levels. The system is based on the CERIF (Common European Research Information Format) data model that enables interoperability with other information systems. The metadata can also be accessed through application programming interface (API).
System modules are interoperable and interconnected, enabling data use for various purposes. Authorised users can generate reports for career advancement, institutional re-accreditation, and for authorities such as the Ministry of Science, Education and Youth. CroRIS is integrated with national systems like ISPiK, HRZZ, and DABAR, enhancing its utility.
Based on the data entered into CroRIS, researchers also have access to Srce's advanced computing resources. With the exception of certain GDPR-protected personal data, all information is publicly accessible. CroRIS supports Open Science by providing information on open-access publications, tracking APCs and aligning the entry fields in the Equipment and services module with the European Open Science Cloud (EOSC) requirements. By systematically collecting and processing information about research activities, CroRIS enhances transparency, facilitates collaboration, and supports strategic decision-making.
