YOU & ME: Annual Patron Report

Abstract

“YOU & ME” is an annual patron report project launched by Xiamen University Libraries. Since its initiation in 2013, the project has been driving towards reading promotion, low carbon life style and librarian-patron interaction. In elaborately designed infographics and popular background music, each report summarizes the annual data update in library collection, patron behavior, facilities usage and service available, highlighting hottest books and authors, champions in readership, preferable facility usage, and service innovation and upgrades. Presented in H5, each report is easily accessible via mobile devices and adaptable to multiple platforms, with remark columns for readers to leave comments and links to share in social media like Microblog, Wechat and QQ Space. Many readers share the reports and leave comments, and the project is increasingly becoming a platform to propagate library service and promote librarian-patron interaction.
