Abstract
The aim of this study was to determine the knowledge, commitment and action available to professional ethics librarianship. This is a survey study. The study population consisted of all librarians in public libraries in Mazandaran province. The data collection tool was a questionnaire that according to the criteria provided in the Code of Ethics America Library Association and libraries have been put through to the person. Statistical analysis was performed on 54 questionnaires. Data analysis using descriptive statistics and were analyzed using SPSS software. The results showed that 83 percent of librarians are familiar with the principles of professional ethics, and 79 percent committed to the principles of professional ethics, and they provide 86% of the action to carry out their professional ethics. In this study it was found that there is a significant relationship between the level of professional education and knowledge, commitment and discretion in applying the principles of professional ethics among librarians. Current study revealed that the professional experience and familiarity between the two variables, and commitment to professional ethics in the library there is a significant relationship between professional experience and authority to apply the principles of professional ethics difference there is significant. In other words, by increasing employment history, professional librarians, in their introduction to professional ethics and performance increases.
