Abstract

All the libraries can have a role to play in the sustainable development and especially in terms of gender equality defence. Apart from Marie Curie, few role models are offered to youg students in science and engineering, and few female students attend scientific studies. For example there are only 12% of female students in the Licenciate Diploma of Engineering Sciences in Aix Marseille University (France). To attract more girls to study Stem subjects at university, we need to promote more women in that field and a science library is a good place to start ! For five years now, the Saint-Jerome Science Library has closely worked with the Vice-Presidency for Gender Equality and Anti-Discrimination of Aix-Marseille University (France) on that issue. The library spaces, training sessions, collections and events organized at the library take into account that goal. Beyond Marie Curie, we will present here how we can highlight the role of women in science and engineering.
