Abstract

Before 1960: • 2-nd place among the intra-terraneous non-out-flow lakes (after the Caspian sea) • 4-th place among the lakes (after the Caspian sea, the Great American lakes and the lake of Victoria) Parameters of the Aral Sea: on 1960 on 2018 (the Lesser Aral) Area – 68 999 sq.km2 Area – 3 300 km2 Volume – 1064 km3 Volume – 29 km3 Salinity – 10% Salinity – 17% The dried Aral Sea is the greatest ecological catastrophe of our times. The topicality of the problem of the disappearing Aral Sea is a threat not only to our region but to the whole of the world. As a result of its drying the wind annually raises up to 75 millions of tons of dust and poisonous salt which are already discovered in Europe and Antarctic Continent, that’s why the Aral region is a threat to the world. Before Kazakhstan and the world community stands the problem of restoration of the Aral bio-diversity and good-quality life for the people who live there. As the head of UNO Antonio Gyterrish said (in 2018): “The Aral Sea can become the symbol of disruption of the planet by mankind ”. He called to take lessons from this tragedy and mobilize the whole international community for making actions against ecological catastrophe. The idea is in the elaboration of biblio-volunteer activity directed at the search and wide-spreading of knowledge for the communities for the stabilization of the ecological and socio-economic state of the Aral Sea.
