Abstract
School libraries in Kazakhstan support educational processes through library and information services. This work has greatly expanded under the "Children's Library" project, which promotes literate reading and motivates students to enjoy fiction.
A full system of activities was created, including "Reading on Vacation" and "Reading Across Subjects." In summer, libraries organize about 8,000 events nationwide: biblioglobus "Travel with a Book, "I Am a Patriot of Kazakhstan" game, literary marathons "Vacation with a Book," etc.
During the school year, silent reading hours, meaningful reading sessions, and 20-minute reading breaks are held. Particular attention is given to patriotic education through Kazakh traditions and literature.
Since the project began, over 3.7 million events have taken place, including celebrity meetings, readers' conferences, "Reading Together" days, book-donation campaigns, "Reading Mother" and "Most Reading Family" festivals, family reading clubs, online challenges ( "My Favorite Book"), photo contests, quizzes on Ybyrai Altynsarin, QR projects, and more.
All activities aim to raise the prestige of reading, increase reading engagement, improve reading quality, and introduce students to the best works of Russian and world literature.
