Minutes of Meeting: Library Theory and Research Section, 12 February 2026

Abstract

The Library Theory and Research Section held its fourth business meeting on 12 February 2026 via Zoom. Members reviewed and approved the previous minutes, noted the need to finalise a fixed monthly meeting schedule, and received updates on ongoing projects. The Section’s Action Plan has been published on the IFLA Infinity Platform and aligns with divisional priorities. Reports were provided on the stakeholder survey, the Mental Health and Information Literacy project (currently awaiting clarification on leadership and continuation), communication activities, and the Diversity Research Project, which will begin with a structured literature and data review prior to the London Congress. Planning for WLIC 2026 included agreement in principle to co‑organise a Knowledge Café with the Knowledge Management Section and to advance a provisional proposal for a satellite meeting on research integrity in the age of AI. The meeting concluded with deadlines noted and next steps assigned.
