Minutes of Meeting: Bibliography Section, 1 October 2025

Abstract

The October 2025 Bibliography SC meeting launched the 2025–2027 Action Plan, approving prior minutes and reviewing WLIC 2025 outcomes. Members praised the strong content of the Satellite Meeting, UBC session, and Art & Bibliography session, though noted challenges with late announcements, sponsorship, and limited attendance. Discussion of the new WLIC model raised concerns about reduced duration, fewer open sessions, and the heavy burden of organizing satellite events. Planning focused on working group outputs: updating the National Bibliographic Register, translating and promoting the UBC Statement, analyzing accessibility metadata survey results, advancing the AI white paper, and revising Common Practices for National Bibliographies in the Digital Age. Communications updates emphasized LinkedIn activity, new website resources, and the Metadata Newsletter.
