Minutes of Meeting: Enviroment, Sustainability and Libraries Section, 4 and 14 April 2026

Abstract

The 4th and 14th April 2026 ENSULIB Business Meetings brought together members of the ENSULIB Standing Committee from Europe, North America, Africa, Asia, and Australia to discuss ongoing projects, international collaboration, and preparations for the upcoming IFLA World Library and Information Congress (WLIC) in Busan, South Korea. Key topics included updates on the IFLA Green Library Award, with 18 projects currently under evaluation, and the approval of ENSULIB’s satellite meeting, open sessions, and Green Library Award ceremony at WLIC 2026. The committee also reviewed progress on webinars, newsletters, the Green Library Certification Framework, and the implementation guide for the IFLA Green Library Guidelines. Members shared outcomes from the 3rd International Libraries & Technology Festival in Istanbul, Türkiye and discussed future cooperation with global library partners. The meetings highlighted ENSULIB’s continued commitment to sustainability, climate literacy, innovation, and international engagement within the global library community.
