Minutes of meeting: IFLA Regional Council, 9 April 2026

Abstract

The seventh meeting of the Regional Council 2025-2027 was held virtually on 9 April 2026. The meeting opened with updates from the Regional Council Vice-Chair, and the Professional Council Chair, covering recent external engagements, strategic priorities, the upcoming WLIC, and ongoing collaboration between IFLA bodies. A central item was the future of the IFLA Library Map of the World, a thematic deep-dive on regional experiences of working with the IFLA Strategy. Discussions also focused on delivering on the Regional Council Action Plan, the next steps on Regional Office renewal, the Regional Council session at WLIC, and planning future meetings.
