Powering Transformation on Information and Knowledge Discussion Paper

Abstract

At the World Library and Information Congress (WLIC) 2026, thought-leaders from the library field and beyond were invited to discuss how libraries can power transformation in key areas. Through the session, a consistent message emerged: libraries need to remain active participants in shaping the information environment rather than simply responding to technological change. You are invited to imagine a future where libraries help build sustainable futures through information and knowledge in an increasingly complex digital ecosystem. Use this Discussion Paper to spark further conversation, imagination, and action.
