Abstract

In a rapidly changing information landscape, the National Assembly Library of Korea is redefining its strategic role by transforming traditional text-based legislative materials into data-driven visualization services. A flagship outcome of this shift is Data+, which improves the efficiency of information delivery by presenting policy issues and legislative agendas in an intuitive visual form. Data+ is an advanced model of the library's existing text-based legislative and legal information response service. It proactively identifies emerging issues by analyzing accumulated inquiry data and publishes them as legislative information reports that visualize policies, statistics, and legislation through infographics, charts, and graphs. Recent issues have addressed timely subjects such as the global security environment and AI innovation, building a repository of high-quality visual data valued for its precision and reliability. This poster presents the core workflow of Data+ along with its four key visualization strategies through examples of previously published issues of Data+—Map, Trend, Comparison, and Distribution—each designed to make complex policy data immediately actionable. Drawing on a quantitative analysis of reports by standing committee, policy topic, and country of reference, it demonstrates how structured visualization strengthens legislative insight and supports evidence-based decision-making for members of the National Assembly.
