From the Introduction: "The information provided in this annual report supplements that which is to be found in IFLA 's Progress Report July 1976/July 1977, which was distributed as a separate brochure at Brussels (September 1977). For the benefit of those who did not see that report some salient points will be repeated here. In future IFLA will publish calendar-year reports.
