Abstract

This summary draws from the report, State of Library Engagement in Climate Communication and Education, by Aaron Redman PhD. This research was commissioned by IFLA and supported through a grant from Gates Foundation via Stichting IFLA Global Libraries in 2024. It examines responses from a survey carried out by IFLA and the Monitoring and Evaluating Climate Communication and Education (MECCE) Project. It highlights key findings from this research and shares recommendations and calls to action to further the engagement of libraries in climate action. Library professionals can use this to power their own advocacy on the role of libraries in environmental sustainability and as inspiration for further action.
